I had fashioned sort of a wonky cowl to direct the blower's output onto the SSD, but it didn't really stay in place. I bought another blower which included a nozzle that fit over the output.
Relatively speaking, the new blower is a monster -- thrice the width of the original, which potentially created a real estate problem. So...
For as much as I didn't want to do it, I removed the aluminum floppy drive hardware. Doing this gave me the entire vertical space inside the case to work with, but it also meant having to find another way to secure the face of the drive -- the part that makes the unit recognizable.
Having insulated the snot out of the interior, I wanted to monitor the temperature inside the case, and inside of the covered area where the SSD is.
Somewhat happily, I was able to make good use of a couple of house the previous owner had drilled into the left side of the unit. The holes were the perfect size for the probes. One was fastened to the top of the SSD container; the other was attached to a flexible zip strip that should sit at the top of the case's interior.
